Here are some personal details prior to visa application:
country of passport: Philippines
country where i applied for Australian Visa: Indonesia
current visa in Indonesia: Working Permit Visa (KITAS)
type of visa applied: Tourist Visa (Visitor - Temporary)
Requirements I submitted:
- passport
- photocopy of KITAS
- Certificate of Employment
- Payslip (3 months)
- Birth Certificate (Original)
- Invitation letter from my sister
- Bank Certificate
- passport picture
Follow - up Requirements
- My sister's scanned copy of birth certificate
- My sister's scanned copy of australian passport
- Scanned copy of credit card billings (From Philippines)
Direct application vs Travel Agency
i originally planned to submit my requirements directly to Australian Embassy here in Jakarta but since my work schedule was crazy, i decided to avail visa assistance in a travel agency instead.
i availed the visa assistance of Bayu Buana in Arkadia Office. they made a checklist for all the requirements i have submitted. Total amount i paid was - 1,329,000 IDR (australia visa fee + visa assistance fee). vat of 1% was likewise included to the total amount.
Time line of Visa Application
Nov. 16 , 2011 - submission of my requirement to the travel agency
Nov. 24, 2011 - received a fax from Australian Embassy asking for additional documents. i submitted the follow up documents the day after receiving the notice from the embassy
Dec. 1, 2011 - visa approval
Dec. 8, 2011 - got my passport from the travel agency
The Australia Visa Experience
Honestly, i was nervous the whole time i was waiting for my visa application. hahaha! and thank goodness, everything worked out just fine. for me, seeking visa assistance in a reputable travel agency was the best decision at that time as i thought i already submitted all the required documents, Australia embassy asked for additional documents. and so,i was able to gather and submit it as soon as i got the notice and the travel agency was able to send it withing the sufficient time frame given by the embassy.
as soon as i got my visa and passport, i booked my flights and got ready for my trip. but more of that laterrrrrrrrrr... :)
