Australia Trip: Kuala Lumpur Stopover

i got my australia visa so next in my list was to book a flight. i've been researching what airline i should take. my dates were within the christmas/new year holidays so i was expecting it was going to be costly. i was lemming on budget airlines thinking it would be way cheaper but i stumbled on my research, an airline that was not a budget airline and the fare was a little above than the budget one. so i was thinking to book this one instead as the more than 8 hour trip was going to be tiring and it was my first time to travel alone in a long haul flight. Plus, it was my christmas/birthday gift to my self.

and so, i booked my flights with the same travel agency  i went to for my visa assistance. i booked Jakarta - Adelaide with Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia stopover via Malaysia Airlines.

Note: No direct flight from Jakarta, Indonesia to Australia. Usual stopovers are in Malaysia and Singapore.

Travel agent gave me a choice between a 4 hour and 1 hour stopover in Kuala Lumpur. I chose the 4 hour stopover for Jakarta - Adelaide flight and 1 hour stopover for Adelaide - Jakarta flight. Why? i took that 4 hours  stopover since i want to leave Jakarta early and familiarize myself of having a connecting flight so when i get back to Jakarta i already know what to do and that 1 hour stopover will be a breeze.

The Malaysia Airlines Experience

I loved it! Jakarta - Kuala lumpur - Adelaide flight was pleasant. food was great and i didn't have a seatmate so i got to use an extra pillow. haha!

Adelaide - Kuala Lumpur flight was the best! Checked in counter in Adelaide gave me additional allowance for my overweight luggage PLUS my seat was the aisle seats and the 2 seats were all mine so i got to lie down and slept all through out the long flight. bliss!

The Kuala Lumpur Stopover Experience

Even if it was not my first time in Kuala Lumpur, it was my first time in Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Upon disembarking the plane, i took the Aerotrain (a 2 minute free ride within the airport) to get to the next terminal where my flight to Australia was located. Signs were everywhere so i didn't have a hard time looking for my boarding gate. it only took me a maximum of 30 minutes to figure everything out. so since i got ample time prior to my boarding, i went around the terminal, window shopped and dined.

KLIA

now, it's time to blab about my OZ trip. stay tuned! :)
