CNY 2014: Taman Safari

Jan. 31, 2014

*late post*

I recently realized that i've been visiting Taman Safari every year since 2012. luckily with those visits, i was with different companies and somehow, i always discover something new in every visit. for instance, my 2012 visit was my first time and i was with housemate and permata friends. Last 2013 visit was spent with my family. This year, i was with my sunter loves.

in a nutshell

since it was a holiday, massive traffic jam was expected, so we left Jakarta at around 4 am. We had an early brekky stopover upon arrival at Bogor. we likewise bought carrots for the animal feeding.

Taman Safari gates open at 8:30 am. We arrived 2 hours prior the opening. Fortunately for us, we were able to watch, and some of us, joined with the opening performance of all the taman safari staff. I have no idea if it was because of the Chinese new year holiday or they do it every day. regardless, it was fun (and kinda funny too) watching the opening show. very show time ang peg. haha!

show time

January is still on the rainy season of Indonesia. Thus, it was very foggy when we went to Taman Safari. Sadly, my outfit was not apt for the weather. typical me. haha!

Normally, i would stay at the back of the car and watch my friends (and family) feed the animals enroute to the park. The most extreme i have done was throw some carrots to some animals nearby. This time though, i was (kinda) forced by my friends to actually feed an animal. Hence, i somewhat freaked out. hahaha! one for the books experience as always.

 well, hello there!

I was actually looking forward to this visit as i can finally trek the waterfalls! despite the slippery path and foggy climate, it was worth it seeing the waterfalls.

waterfalls experience. finally!

We also visited the aviary and had some photo ops with some exotic birds. hehe.

Taman Safari visit won't be complete without a close encounter and photo op of some of the exotic animals in this country (or maybe planet). I usually have my photo taken with the white bengal tiger but i decided to have my monkey experience instead. Okaaay, so i'm not really a fan of monkeys. The sole reason for this experience so i can show it to my Evil. He found it cute, i found the experience weird. Oh well, there you go. haha!

monkey business
apparently, these folks are the park's characters. haha!
 class picture. haha!
As much as we wanted to watch all the available shows, we only managed to watch 3 shows: dolphin show, sea lion show and the cowboy show (my first time!).

Final Thoughts About Taman Safari

I love love roadtrips. I said yes in a heartbeat when my friends suggested to have this roadtrip. I actually enjoyed my visit as usual.

I am longing for another roadtrip soon. Praying to universe to make it happen. *cross fingers*
