June 25 - 26, 2012
i also promised my girls that we will relive the macau scene of the hit koreanovela series - Boys Over Flowers. hahaha!
Anyway, our Macau trip was a short one. we only spent overnight to explore before heading back to Philippines.
Since our time to explore Macau was limited plus the kids were getting worn out from too much walking, we only went to the usual tourist spots. it was fine with me. i just want to eat, eat and eat!!! [Think: egg tart]
ok so here we go...
ACCOMMODATION
we stayed at Hotel Sintra We booked 2 Grand Deluxe twin rooms via Agoda. Total rate of the 2 rooms for an overnight stay cost 278.26 USD.
PROs
- spacious room (4 adult can fit on each grand deluxe room)
- clean bathroom
- accommodating and pleasant reception and hotel staff
- breakfast buffet was good (according to my brother-in-law and nieces)
- good location (walking distance to Senado Square and New Yaohan Mall)
- free shuttle to City of Dreams
Cons
- hard to locate shuttle bus at macau ferry terminal
SITES
Senado Square and Ruins of St. Paul [night mode]
personally, these sites are best viewed at night! love it!
Senado Square and Ruins of St. Paul [day mode]
I love going here coz of 2 reasons: first, food trip to the max! secondly, cheap perfumes and cosmetics!
City of Dreams
Upon check out from Hotel Sintra, we took a shuttle enroute to City of Dreams and left our luggage at their cloakroom. This is also where we rode the shuttle bus enroute to airport.
Venetian Hotel
a must stop to every tourist in Macau. and of course, who would forget the Boys over Flowers scenes in this hotel. crazy! hahaha!
Final Thoughts about Macau
i love going to Macau as much as i love going to Hongkong. Though personally, one night or even day trip is enough to explore this city. i always look forward to a food trip whenever i visit. and during this trip, i sampled 3 different egg tarts. my taste buds' verdict goes to Lord Stow's for the most yummy egg tart i have ever tasted. hahaha!
anyway, the end of our 4 day vacation was the beginning of our newly tradition of an annual family vacation. we already made plans where to go next year. I'm crossing fingers that our next trip will be as awesome as this trip. i can't wait!!! :)
