Australia Trip: Touchdown - Adelaide, South Australia

Dec. 22, 2011

i originally planned on taking jakarta-kl-melbourne flight but since the last leg of my trip was adelaide, i decided to booked jakarta-kl-adelaide-kl-jakarta flights instead. it was a good decision coz it turned out to be cheaper and the time of flights were better.  i just booked a late afternoon flight from adelaide to melbourne on the same day i arrive. so i have roughly 8 hours to kill in Adelaide before my flight to melbourne.

anyhow, i have been warned (haha!) that Australia customs are very very strict so i memorized all the stuff that i brought and i mentally prepared myself if a custom officer asked me about my baggage.

TIP: be honest and declare everything in your customs form. even if you're not sure, declare it anyway.

So while i was waiting for my checked in luggage at the carousel, a custom officer approached me to check my customs form. Funny, i was asked what the "emping pedas" (crackers) i brought was made of (my pasalubong for my sister). i said: "i think it's made of flour.". hahaha!!! :))

other than that, lane for the customs itself and Immigration were a breeze :)

i was fortunate enough to be picked up by a friend (Thank you zai!) when i arrived in adelaide. she took me in her place, cooked breakfast for me, dozed off for a bit and later changed clothes before picking up our other friend (holla, jen!) before we all head up to the airport for our melbourne flight. so that basically how i spent my first day in australia. haha!

me and my oz travel buddy, jen! :)

Jen and I took separate flights going to melbourne. She took jetstar whilst i took virgin airlines.

 Adelaide Airport
