Cebu: A Gastronomical Adventure

since my trip consisted of 2 places in cebu, i've decided to combine all of our food stops in one entry.

let's start...

BANTAYAN ISLAND

MARISQUEIRA

actual expense: ~139 php/pax

what we ordered: set menu (choice of liempo, squid, etc with rice and choice of softdrinks or iced tea)

note: no service charge included

over all verdict: taste was so - so. we were extremely hungry so it was ok with us.

D' JUNGLE

actual expense: ~350 php/pax

what we ordered: buffet dinner with bottomless iced tea

note: no service charge included

over all verdict: quite disappointed. i was expecting a variety of seafood dishes. dishes served were mostly fish with different sauces only and "relyeno" of everything. despite this, staff was very attentive and accommodating to us. the owner roamed around to check out each table. he was very friendly. 

CEBU CITY

CASA VERDE

actual expense: ~ 215 php/pax

what we ordered: Brian's ribs, a pitcher of iced tea

note: we went to its original branch (Ramos St)

over all verdict: i absolutely loved it here. staff was very pleasant and attentive. the front desk officer was very helpful and accommodating. the place was clean and we were immediately seated when we arrived. the food was ok. servings of the ribs were huge but the taste was not that remarkable.

MOOON CAFE

my actual expense: ~ 110 php

what i ordered: tequila sunrise (cocktail drink)

note: we went to IT park branch

over all verdict: i love the place. very cozy and appealing. kinda fusion of MOMO cafe and agave. haha. we only had drinks here as we came from dinner at case verde. will make sure to dine here next time.

CNT LECHON

our actual expense: ~ 84 php/ pax

what we ordered: 1/2 kl lechon, rice and drinks

note: it was like a carinderia style of ordering

over all verdict: surprisingly, the lechon was yummy. i'm not a fan of lechon and i actually liked it. the only thing that we didn't like was the chaotic experience of ordering. too many people and we need to ask other people how to order because everyone was at the counter.

How to Order: get a number from the cashier area. wait for your number to be called.

TIP: write down your order in a piece of paper and when it's your turn just give it to them. we did this and it helped us especially since each of us has separate order for lechon take out. try to go here before 1 or 2 pm because their lechon sells fast.

1 kilo lechon - 340 php
1/2 kilo lechon - 170 php
box - 15 php
