March 11 - 16, 2010
my first out of the country tour this year. spent it with my siblings. suuuuper fun! our trip was almost cancelled due to city's protest against the government. good thing we pushed through, we never felt the rally and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip.
i can imagine myself living here! grabe, this is my 2nd favorite place after HK of course.haha!
new additions to my traveling tips :)
ACCOMODATION
stayed again at my hotel pratunam. i swear i'll never book here again. they overbooked and gave one of our rooms away. they made us stay at their sister hotel for a night. super hassle! ganitong ganito din nangyari samin from our last trip last december.
GETTING TO/AROUND
we took BTS, MRT, river express and a whole lot of walking. only took taxi coming from/going to airport. tuktuks are such ripped offs. ako pa lolokohin nila.hay naku!haha!
ATTRACTIONS/TOURIST SPOTS
samphran elephant ground and zoo - 900 baht
*half day tour to watch elephant show and crocodile show including transportation. feeding and picture ops with elephants. a side trip to jewelry factory before going back to hotel. if you choose to do it DIY, entrance ticket to the zoo costs 500 baht and i have no idea for transpo.haha!
baiyoke sky dinner hotel and revolving deck - 600 baht
*i have always wanted to try their dinner buffet and this hotel is the tallest tower in bangkok. this rate includes buffet dinner at crystal grill (grill and seafood buffet) and entrance to the revolving deck. super worth it! must try!
SHOPPING
chatuchak weekend market - my favorite place to score unique and fab finds!
platinum fashion mall - my second favorite place to shop!
suan lum bazaar - night market. too expensive.
centralworld - my favorite upscale mall in bangkok. this mall houses forever 21, topshop, miss selfridge, zara, mango and zen department store. aaaand it's just walking distance from pratunam area!
