First off, I am so proud of myself for keeping my travel entries up to date. No more blog lagging for now. haha!
Moving on, like what i have shared from my previous Jakarta Staycation, 3 things to do in Jakarta: hotel staycation, dining and shopping. But if you're looking for an alternative jakarta staycation experience, i also have 3 things to do: hotel staycation, night out and dining in 5 star hotels. Obviously, the latter list is more for a friends staycation type.
that said, let me share some details of that crazy weekend. Hashtag trial and error. haha!

ACCOMMODATION
It was difficult to look for a hotel which can accommodate an extra bed for a total of 3 persons with a good location, good reviews and not so expensive rate. There was not so much choices, hence, i have booked a superior room (with extra bed) at Hotel Oria via Agoda.
PROs
- good location (walking distance to sarinah mall and to nearby malls in Thamrin Area)
- accommodating and friendly hotel receptionists and housekeeping
- clean hotel room
- originally room given to us had no view, we requested for a room with view, they gave us a room with a view of the next door hotel
- the room was too small to accommodate an extra bed. beds were cramped together
- no breakfast included
- inconsistent wifi connection
DINING
Marche
I always feel like dining here for non-regular days. Meaning there is something to be celebrated or something worth making memories. So as a pre-jakarta staycation, we had our late lunch at their Grand Indonesia branch.
I love how fresh their juices are! Food are always nice. Not so drool worthy but good.
The Cafe By Hotel Mulia Senayan
Like what i have initially shared, one of the activities for a jakarta staycation is experiencing buffet in one of the 5 star hotels in Jakarta. After narrowing down the choices, we celebrated Rome a.k.a. Sarah's birthday dinner in The Cafe of Hotel Mulia. For weekend dinner, rate is 361,000 IDR including tax BUT excluding drinks.
This was actually my first time to try dining in Hotel Mulia and after much researching about its buffet, i was excited. we all were.
Given that i reserved a table a day before our dinner, the only available time was 9 pm. We were then showed our table when we arrived a couple of minutes before 9 pm. We were seated near the sushi station.
Let's go to food review: Food stations were scattered all over the place. So you really have to walk around the entire place to check out the buffet choices. I loved the salmon sashimi at the sushi station. I also liked the cold appetizers. I'm not a fan of indian cuisine and indonesian cuisine so i skipped those stations. Dimsums were unremarkable. I was disappointed with the western food station. There were limited choices. However, i was surprised how humungous the oysters were and surprisingly yummy. Though i didn't eat too much because of possible food allergy.
Okay, so the most important station for me in buffets is the dessert spread. They have massive choices for dessert. Being a cake monster i would highly recommend their cheesecakes and oreo parfait!!! They have ice cream choices but too bad, there was no pistachio. Cakes, on the other hand was not too much as what i have expected. There were a lot of parfaits and it was fine. I didn't see any pies (or maybe i just missed it). Anyway, the dessert spread experience was lovely.
So, would i ever come back to The Cafe after this experience? Maybe not anytime soon. I feel like something is missing. Or nagiinarte lang ako. hahaha!
Since we were sooooo full from our dinner plus we were dressed up for the night, we decided to have some photo ops at the hotel lobby. hahaha!
Dolce by Moovina
To cap off our jakarta staycation, we dined in one of the restaurants in Plaza Indonesia. I have originally planned on dining in Canteen but to our dismay, we were informed it was already closed. So good thing i had plan B! haha! So off we went to Moovina.
You know me and my love to cozy dining. This place just hit the spot! haha! i love moovina! The ambience was lovely and staff were very attentive and nice. I don't mind coming back here soon.
NIGHT OUT
If there is one club in Jakarta i would recommend hitting to, it would be Immigrant. They have recently renovated the place, separating the restaurant and the club. Door charge was increased now to 200,000 IDR with one free drink. Life starts at midnight. haha! one word: AFAM! hahaha!
#OOTD
I was finally able to pull out a school girl outfit. I have been thinking about this outfit since i got my structured loafers. haha!
long sleeves sheer top with bow: passionate | black skater skirt: HM | black and white loafers: charles and keith
The problem of becoming a homebody is the lack of clothing choices when you are faced to a possible night out. This was my dilemma. I have long accepted that night outs nowadays mean staying at home and doing productive work like house chores. hahaha! Thankfully, i was able to score a dress from way back and initially planned to wear it for my upcoming trip. Obviously, this night out needed it more. haha!
Anyway, gone were the days that night out outfits mean showing more than the usual amount of skin. This dress was so simple and covered just the right areas. So not me, but hey, walang basagan ng trip. hahaha!

Last Thoughts about Jakarta Staycation
This staycation was one for the books for this year. This was the first time the three of us went out for the weekend let alone a staycation. I am so happy that bex and Rome hit it off amazingly. I remember that we just kept on laughing and teasing each other the entire time.
After this get together, we were actually planning to have a staycation more often starting next year. There are still lot of dining places to explore, more AFAM for rome, more baklaan moments with bex and more feeling tour guide by me. Cross fingers that next year will be a good year for all of us.
again, hashtag trial and error! hahaha!
