Dec 23 - 28, 2013 | Jan. 3 - 6, 2014

saving my favorite city in australia as my last entry for my Australia trip series.

since i consider this place as home (choz!) and had the most meaningful oz trip ever, i am giving this entry a more personal touch. Hence, a photo diary type. some photos were not even shared in instagram and facebook. hahaha!

Dec. 22, 2013

The day i arrived in Melbourne. my day was spent drinking white wine, binge eating and watching my sister make my homecoming treat, a chocolate cake! life is goooood!

The day i went to Indonesia Consulate only to find out i can not process my Indonesian Visa. So we went home and got drunk til i literally passed out.

i was tasked to make the tiramisu for dessert but i was too drunk to function. Thus, this tiramisu was made by my loving sister. hehe.

tiramisu ye-yeah!

i felt really bad of what happened the previous day so i decided to do some yoga loving and work out. The truth was, i was actually trying to balance out the holiday bingeing. hahaha!

Christmas day!

we had guests (ate and joe's friends) who came over to spend Christmas lunch with us. That day was quite special because of our annual family conference via oovoo. It was that conference i introduced my boyfriend to my family. naaaaks! and of course, my annual tradition of watching The Holiday. Though someone fell asleep even before the movie started (*ehem*).

Dec. 27, 2013

the only almost touristy thing i have done in Melbourne for 2013 was visiting Scienceworks. I really have this weird obsession with science museums so i was so stoked when my sister brought me here. I was so excited that i really dressed up for this experience. haha!

aaaaand i'm back! this time with my travel buddy, Jen. We arrived from Sydney at around 8 am. So based from our dear friend's recommendation, we should have our brekkies at degraves street. Oh my Gooooood! must go!

my melbourne trip won't be complete without my visit to my favorite garden, carlton gardens! i was giddy like a toddler every freaking visit. i don't mind staying here for the entire day. seriously.

hello love, i'm back!

Jan. 4, 2014

ok, i never expected anything from this trip. all i knew was it was something new and nice to experience. since we already went to must see places in victoria, Sovereign Hill was something next in line to go. well surprisingly, i had an amazing experience! for real!

it was quite far. more than an hour of drive. and it will take you the whole day for the sovereign experience. i swear.

TIP: join the underground mining tours. must do!!

The Big 3-0! hahahaha!

i had a very low key birthday celebration. i was happy celebrating it with my melbourne family. we had a 4 course dinner at a spanish restaurant, Bohemian Restaurant, in Southwharf.

afterwards, we had a quick photo ops at yarra river before heading home for my favorite part of my birthday, blowing my sister's homemade peach and mango cake. Life is good!

Final Thoughts about Melbourne

i love love melbourne! my favorite city in australia! it's heartbreaking every time i leave this city. every single time. haaay.

anyway, this trip gave me something to think about life and future plans. i'm happy my family is very supportive in whatever decision i will make.

i do hope in the near future, i get to spend more time in melbourne. either for another vacation or for a longer stay. let's see at the end of the year. *wink*
