this was a not-so-spontaneous spontaneous trip. hahaha! why?! i was originally set to see my college friend but she wasn't able to come to KL, and i decided to still continue with my trip. Thankfully, Isa, one of my friends here in Jakarta accepted my invitation to come with me despite the last minute arrangements.
the crazy ones!
Since we both have saturday work, we left Jakarta at around 4 pm and arrived KL around 7 pm. We then took the bus+train route to reach our hotel. It took us a total of 2 hours from airport to hotel.
LCCT bus
fast train (with free wifi!)
ACCOMMODATION
this hotel was suggested by a friend so i researched hard enough to be convinced to book an overnight stay. haha! So i booked Geo Hotel via Agoda. We paid 53 USD for an overnight stay.
PROs
- great location! just a few steps from pasar seni station, walking distance to central market
- friendly receptionists (one of them is pinay)
- free wifi
- relatively clean bedroom and comfy bed
- 7-11 in front of hotel for after night out snacks
- no divider between sink area and shower area, thus, almost entire bathroom floor gets wet when you take a shower

THINGS TO DO/TOURIST SPOTS
ZOUK
Isa and I went to Zouk on a saturday night (read: kuracha) as i have read that it is one of the hottest clubs in KL. Coincidentally, there was an event and that made us look forward more in experiencing clubbing, KL style. There were several queues prior to entering the club, we went to the tourist queue and showed our passport which gave us free entrance to the club.
overall experience was ok. honestly, nothing to gush about. I was disappointed with my drink as they used pepsi instead of coke for my jack daniels. haha! crowd and music - wise, nothing impressive as well (or maybe we were so over with the clubbing scene. haha!).

CENTRAL MARKET
Since the central market was a few walks from the hotel, Isa and I went to check out the place the following morning.

MERDEKA SQUARE
Thanks to our personal tour guide (hahaha!), we were brought to some of the tourist spots around KL, where one of it was the merdeka square.
tourists
we likewise went to KL city gallery to check out some history stuff and enjoy the cool breeze of aircondition. hehe.
me and my obsession to maps. happiness!
it was cool to find out that KL offers free bus ride to some touristy places around the city. nice!

BUKIT BINTANG
one of the objectives in this trip is to eat! So, franco, brought us to this hawker style food center which was a delight! yummmmmm!
lafang!
Another malaysia based pinoy friend joined us, Francis, who toured us to my favorite chocolate factory, Beryl's! *happy dance*

and the highlight of this trip for me was the tea salon in starhill gallery! i was in tea heaven! seriously! aaaaack!!
happiness in a tea cup!
i'm so happy! hahaha!
KL won't be complete without a side trip to see Petronas towers. haha!
night and day!
Last Thoughts about KL
I have been to KL a couple of times for short trips and layovers but this trip has been my favorite so far! I know it was only a weekend trip but it was so fun and steady!
I am extremely grateful to our malaysia based pinoy friends for taking their sunday off to meet us and tour us around.
As of this writing, Isa and I are already preparing for our KL-repeat trip this coming weekend. We are so excited! It's going to be pure shopping and food tripping weekend. watch out for it!
