this is obviously a very late trip report.
anyhoo, my mom and aunts visited me here in Jakarta at the start of my lebaran holiday. they stayed 3 whole days before joining them to the airport for our respective flights. Me, enroute to Singapore and them, enroute to Brunei.
the tricky part of planning an itinerary for senior folks was figuring out where to go in spite differences of preferences. i literally experienced stressed (to the maximum level) planning. I was so thankful to my wonderful jakarta friends for helping out organizing an overnight trip to Bogor.
ok, here is the photo diary of our trip with some chika along the way...

to accommodate us all, we decided to hire a coaster for an overnight use. rate cost 150,000 IDR/pax/day. total amount for each person for an overnight use was 300,000 IDR.
ze coaster experience
first stop was outlet shopping. we went to Brasco outlet store, which i also think is the best outlet store in Bogor.
next stop was checking in to our "hotel".
we stayed at PGI. it was like a retreat house/hotel type. it was peaceful, clean and simple.
the room can accommodate 4 person, single beds with pull out beds. No aircon though it was cold in the night. no fuss stay. bawal choosy. haha!
(PGI's photo)
amenities
simple breakfast choices: nasi goreng, egg and krupuk
after spending the rest of the afternoon just chilling at the hotel, we all went to Cimory Restaurant for dinner (and some pasalubong shopping too!).
My previous cimory experience was nice because of the river view. This time, cimory's view was mountain view. Yay for that! Plus, the dinner lights made the ambiance more enticing.
and of course, bonding with friends entailed a drinking session. hahaha! capped off the night with some vodka, kungfu and chikahan.
the following day was when the real adventure happened. after checking out the hotel, we went to Bogor's Flower Garden (Taman Bunga Nusantara). so, if you're a garden enthusiast, you'll love it here.
spent roughly 2 1/2 hours in this massive garden. it was scorching hot but photo ops were good. hehe.
time for lunch so we all had our tummy filling lunch at a restaurant with tea plantation as backdrop (i forgot the name of the restaurant. still trying to recall. boo.). and then quick photo ops before our next stop.
next stop was a random tea plantation. there was a lot of activities in that place like horse back riding, etc. We only did a quick photo ops and then decided to head back to Jakarta.
the thunders requested to drop by to an antique lamp store to hoard antique lamps. infairness, the lamps were very vintage-y and antique looking and don't cost an arm and leg. we likewise made a quick stop along the road to buy hot ube. i forgot the bahasa version of that delicacy.
Final Thoughts about Bogor
this trip was made possible because of my jakarta friends. without them i bet the three days with the senior folks would have gone chaotic. seriously.
anyway, like i always say, Bogor always manages to surprise me every time i visit. there is always something new to see and discover. to make it more memorable was spending it with the people i like.
as for the senior folk's visit, i guess they enjoyed their bogor experience too. they managed to hoard antique lamps so i think that made their trip. haha!
