Bohol, Philippines: A whirlwind vacation

June 26 - 30, 2013

as usual, i spent 5 days to homeland. maximum stay every visit. you don't wanna know why. haha!

anyhow, i have decided to spend my 4 days to my hometown in bohol. i've been lusting to hit bohol beach ever since i left the country for work. so 5 months before my trip, i booked my flights and informed my parents of my impending arrival.

moreover, since i would be only spending 1 whole day in Manila. i had a meticulous itinerary for that day, which means squeezing errands and meeting with my extended family, my amazing friends. so for an overview of that day, take a look...

with my driver-for-a-day, my brother! he even got me an ipad. lucky me!

dinner and coffee with my cornys

note: also saw my college bestfriend's baby girl, sonic! too bad we were so caught up with the chikahan and we forgot to take photos. boo!

now, to tell you more of my bohol trip..

this trip was planned with my good friend, Pots. we initially had other plans but due to some circumstances, it didn't push through, thus, i invited her to come along with me to visit my hometown.

every OFW's cravings, jollibee! hahaha! (at NAIA Terminal 3)

Country Side Tour

Loboc River Cruise (with lunch)

my favorite dish at the lunch buffet was the sliced mangoes with bagoong. yum!!

Chocolate Hills

personally, i prefer the chocolate hills in carmen than the ones at sagbayan peak.

Tarsier Visit

i was surprised with this newly renovated site for tarsier viewing. honestly, i felt disappointed with the new arrangement.

Dau Market

located near ICM, where we buy our danggit.

Panglao

the highlight of my bohol trip. 2 days of pure bliss. haha! it was just me and my friend stayed at one of the most posh resorts in bohol: The Bellevue Bohol

so here are some of my thoughts about this luxurious panglao experience...

PROs
  • attentive and accommodating staff
  • the room was just perfect!
  • resort itself was amazing
  • impeccable service
CONs
  • expensive (hahaha!)
  • beach shoreline is short
  • pinoy dishes at the breakfast buffet tasted bland
sadly, my goal to have a one shade of golden tan failed due to the gloomy weather. boo! thank goodness, the marshmallow sheets made up for it. haha!

Maribojoc

my hometown

my parents decided to throw a mini-get together with some relatives on my last night in Bohol. it was fun! my happy hour started as early as 12 in the afternoon. haha!

Final Thoughts about Bohol

reminiscing about my trip still brings up mixed emotions. hopefully on my next visit i will get to literally just hibernate at the beach and at home. haha! let's cross fingers to that.
