Singapore: 12 Hours Transit

August 17, 2012

yes, i'm transiting again! this time for my flight to Melbourne, Australia via Jetstar. It was a 12 hour layover and i didn't plan my itinerary for this short trip coz i've been to usual tourist spots already and the place i was keen on seeing will not fit in my 12 hour time frame.

with my travel necessities (scarf, book and travel pillow)

anyway, i arrived in Singapore around 10 am (flight was slightly delayed). Since i was too lazy to go to the city yet, i stayed at the airport for a bit to grab something to eat. after which, i went to "LEFT LUGGAGE" located at the back of watsons, near Departure C to leave my carry on luggage. i paid 4.28 SGD for a one day deposit. then off i go to the city :)

This trip was my first time to ride train from the airport going to the city. I opted to take train coz 1) i was not in a hurry 2) much more cheaper than taking a cab :D

Thank goodness i still have credits from the ez-link card that i bought from my last trip and i used it all through out this quick trip. i never took a taxi to roam around. only mrt and non-stop walking. haha!

first stop was Orchard road. i went to Lucky Plaza to have my money exchanged to SG dollars and walked towards Ion to (window) shop then walked again to Wisma Atria to (window) shop again and to finally rest my aching feet and grab something for late lunch.

as i was roaming around inside Wisma Atria, i settled on having my late lunch at Coffee Stars by Dao coz it looked cozy and not crowded. dining was overall ok. too bad their wifi was not accessible.

quick pit stop

one of the things i always look forward to whenever i'm in Singapore is H&M. so after indulging myself to some lunch, off i go to finally shop! *happy dance*

the highlight of this quick trip was the Harry Potter Exhibition at Art Science Museum of Marina Bay Sands. i'm a huge harry potter fan and I was looking forward to this exhibit ever since i found out about it. anyway, it took me 1 1/2 hours to explore the whole exhibit. it was awesome seeing the artifacts and memoirs of the book turned movie.

taking photo was prohibited so i only took photos prior to entering the exhibit.

:)

after this tour, i met one of my consistent SG companion, amors, for dinner. she brought me to No Signboard Seafood Restaurant in Esplanade. we were laughing so hard coz she ordered chili crab good for 4 people. it was too much! Personally, i prefer Jumbo Seafod when it comes to cereal prawns. but still, it was great to experience the other famous restaurant in singapore.

(L) massive sri lanka chili crab

after our dinner, we parted ways as i was catching my 9pm flight to Melbourne. I almost missed my flight coz i arrived 8pm already. anyway, inspite of lack of detailed itinerary for this trip i had a great time. insanely tired but happy. I'm so looking forward again to my next Singapore trip on December. wuhoo!

Watch out for my Australia Trip Series soon :) kisses, loves!
